EWON visits North West NSW

Service NSW mobile bus

The Energy & Water Ombudsman NSW (EWON) is teaming up with the Service NSW Mobile Bus this week to help customers in North West NSW with energy issues.

We’ll be visiting Tabulam, Drake, Deepwater and Ashford to assist residents and small businesses. Many of these areas have been affected by drought, bushfires and floods and are still feeling the impacts of these events combined with COVID-19.

This is our first face-to-face Outreach trip since April 2020 when the pandemic prevented us from meeting with customers directly, so we’re delighted to be on the road again after months of delivering our Outreach program online.

Specialist staff from EWON will be available to:

  • review bills to help residents understand billing, including new or different charges
  • check eligibility for energy and medical rebates
  • help resolve energy and water complaints including contracts, high bills etc
  • negotiate with retailers to establish payment plans
  • provide tips on how to reduce energy and water consumption.

Residents should bring along any concession cards, copies of latest or past energy and water bills if available and any letters from retailers.

  • Service NSW will also be on hand to assist with:
  • drivers licence and photo card applications and renewals
  • Driver Knowledge Tests
  • Working With Children Checks
  • birth, death and marriage certificate applications
  • the Cost of Living service will also be available to access customers for more than 70 government rebates and savings.
